Costa Rica Adventure Vacation Packages - 12 DAY – 11 Night Itinerary

DAY 01 - Arrival to Costa Rica

  • Arrival to Costa Rica, a CRT representative will provide the arrival transfer from Juan Santa Maria International Airport to your hotel in San José. En-route, we will give a completely explanation of the itinerary and following days activities.

DAY 02 - San José (Breakfast - Lunch)

  • Breakfast at hotel followed by Doka Coffee Tour
  • 11:00 a.m.

    Doka Coffee Tour / Grecia & Sarchi Oxcart Factory (Lunch included): The Doka-Grecia and Sarchi tour is a relaxing yet very enjoyable tour.

    The tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations (Doka) in Costa Rica. This educational and highly enjoyable coffee tour will show how these differences and variety of climatic factors determine the flavour aroma and quality of the final coffee cup. Doka Estate is an outstanding Coffee Hacienda with its own Coffee sun drying patios and Mill. This tour is a great learning opportunity that gives you the knowledge to become a Coffee Connoisseur with good understanding of the Coffee Industry and Costa Rica’s Coffee leading reputation as the fines, highest quality and the most efficient producer with the highest yield per area in the world. This unique Coffee Tour will guide you in a highly enjoyable way, through all the coffee production stages, as you will have the opportunity to closely observe and understand all of the coffee industry relevant details of how many generations of coffee artisans, have carefully selected coffee plants to produce coffee beans undergo that have unique qualities as per taste and aroma getting the proper knowledge on how Costa Rican Coffee is produced, from the plantation into a unique crafted distinctive carefully roasted cup of coffee, which is made fresh from top quality Costa Rican Highland Arabica coffee beans. You will walk through the planted fields, see our beneficio (coffee mill) and smell the aroma emitted by our sun bathed patios where the beans are sun dried every morning.

    Then we will arrive in Grecia, and we will see the famous metal church. The church that has a rare architecture, with high ceilings, ornate stained glass windows, and classical lines.

    Next we will move on to the arts & crafts factories of Sarchi recognized all over for their skilled labor and talented artistry; albeit, known primarily for the famous ox carts that are built there. And, if you are fortunate enough, you will see an ox cart that is over! two stories high. To that end, the behemoth ox cart is registered in the Guinness book of world records as being the largest ox cart in the world. These ox carts are ornately decorated and bursting with intense colors, such as oranges and reds, and come in various sizes, and are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. That said, you will not want to leave Costa Rica without one. To end a beautiful time spent, a delectable typical lunch will be served.

DAY 03 - San José – Sarapiquí (Breakfast)

After breakfast your transportation will depart from you hotel towards the town of Sarapiquí a beautiful area surrounded by Rainforest. On your way admire the amazing scenarios. You will cross the Cloud Forest of the Braulio Carrillo National Park.

Your accommodation for the next 2 nights will be at Hacienda Pozo Azul, a different way to experience the Rainforest in its Tent Suites.

DAY 05 - Arenal (Breakfast)

Departure from the hotel on a shuttle transfer to Arenal. The afternoon will be at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel facilities and the surroundings.

DAY 04 - Sarapiquí (Breakfast)

After breakfast at the hotel you may choose the tour you will like to take part in between a nature walk, rappel tour, zip lining or horseback riding and make it your activity of the day. (CHOICE OF TOUR 1 OF 4)

In the afternoon enjoy your hotel facilities and relax. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

DAY 06 - Arenal Volcano Hike (Breakfast)

Breakfast at the hotel; today participants will enjoy a beautiful walk at the volcano.

Arenal Volcano National Park Nature Walk: A unique experience, guided nature walk tour through the rain forest, to spot monkeys, and birds, with a lot of explanations about flora, fauna and the volcano history. This soft walk will be during 2 hours, around a loop.

Afternoon free to enjoy the hotel facilities or taking optional tours.

Optional Activities (Cost for optional activities not included on the total package price)

Canyoning Tour: Your trip begins with a 30-minute 4x4 drive into the tropical rainforest outside the town of La Fortuna, in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano. You trek through the forest on magical trails that lead to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in Costa Rica, a place very few people get to experience. Along the way you will have the chance to discover the secrets that lie hidden deep within the canyon. From the first waterfall you will rappel down from the top into the beautiful and pristine canyon below. There are 5 rappels, 4 of which are along side or right in waterfalls, and one dry rock face. Then a short trek out of the canyon on a magical trail, jump back in the 4x4 vehicles and head back to the base camp. Minimum age: 6 years old accompanied by a guide. After 12 years (100 pounds) they can do the tour along. What to bring: Hat, sun protection, walking shoes, swim suit, insect repellent and water proof shoes, change of cloth. Inclusions: Transportation from Arenal hotel, guide & equipment.

DAY 07 - Arenal– Punta Leona (Breakfast)


Transfer from Arenal to the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Here you will enjoy beautiful beaches and relax at your hotel with natural surroundings

DAY 08 - 10 - Punta Leona (Breakfast)

Days are at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel facilities and its white sand beach (internal shuttle required). You can also take advantage on the additional activities included for you such as the guided hike, self-guided visit the butterflies’ garden and 20% discount on spa treatments. Organize your schedule with the hotel reception.

DAY 11 - Punta Leona – San Jose (Breakfast)

Transfer from Central Pacific back to San José and overnight

DAY 12 - Back home (Breakfast)

According to the international flight departure time transfer from the hotel in San Jose to the International airport to take the flight back home.

According to the International Airport requirements all passengers must be at airport at least 3 hours before departure flight time for safety and check in procedures.
