Costa Rica Experience Vacation Package

Costa Rica is a tropical paradise with misty volcanoes, wild rivers and verdant jungles teeming with wildlife - it's an eco-tourist's dream destination. The Costa Rica Experience Vacation Package offers a diverse experience; taking in the capital city of San Jose, the active volcano of Arenal, the Monteverde cloud forest reserve, a crossing of Costa Rica's largest lake. Designed for those with a passion for nature, dramatic scenery and opportunities to view rare wildlife, this Costa Rica Tour offers a journey of exploration with the perfect combination of comfort and adventure. The tour starts in the capital of San Jose and ends at Monteverde Cloud Forest before coming back to the city, for a total of 07 nights and 08 days of eco-adventure.

DAY 01 - Arrival to Costa Rica

Arrival to Costa Rica, a CRT representative will provide the arrival transfer from Juan Santa Maria International Airport to your hotel in San José. En-route, we will give a completely explanation of the itinerary and following days activities.

DAY 02 - San José

Breakfast at hotel followed by Doka Coffee Tour (OPTIONAL)



Doka Coffee Tour / Grecia & Sarchi Oxcart Factory

The Doka-Grecia and Sarchi tour is a relaxing yet very enjoyable tour.  The tour begins with a wonderful drive through some of the largest coffee and sugar cane plantations (Doka) in Costa Rica.  This educational and highly enjoyable coffee tour will show how these differences and variety of climatic factors determine the flavour aroma and quality of the final coffee cup.  Doka Estate is an outstanding Coffee Hacienda with its own Coffee sun drying patios and Mill. This tour is a great learning opportunity that gives you the knowledge to become a Coffee Connoisseur with good understanding of the Coffee Industry and Costa Rica’s Coffee leading reputation as the fines, highest quality and the most efficient producer with the highest yield per area in the world. This unique Coffee Tour will guide you in  a highly enjoyable way,  through all the coffee production stages, as you will have the opportunity to closely observe and understand all of the coffee industry relevant details of  how many generations of coffee artisans, have carefully selected coffee plants to  produce coffee beans undergo that have unique qualities as per taste and  aroma getting the proper knowledge on how Costa Rican Coffee is produced, from the plantation into a unique crafted  distinctive carefully  roasted cup of coffee, which is  made fresh from top quality Costa Rican Highland Arabica coffee beans. You will walk through the planted fields, see our “beneficio” (coffee mill) and smell the aroma emitted by our sun bathed patios where the beans are sun dried every morning.

Then we will arrive in Grecia, and we will see the famous metal church. The church that has a rare architecture, with high ceilings, ornate stained glass windows, and classical lines. 

Next we will move on to the arts & crafts factories of Sarchi recognized all over for their skilled labor and talented artistry; albeit, known primarily for the famous ox carts that are built there. And, if you are fortunate enough, you will see an ox cart that is over! Two stories high. To that end, the behemoth ox cart is registered in the Guinness book of world records as being the largest ox cart in the world.  These ox carts are ornately decorated and bursting with intense colors, such as oranges and reds, and come in various sizes, and are treasured worldwide for their unique beauty. That said, you will not want to leave Costa Rica without one. Albeit, I would not recommend you attempt to lug the two story ox cart home. To end a beautiful time spent, a delectable typical lunch will be served.

DAY 03 - San José – Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the hotel on a shuttle transfer to Arenal. The afternoon will be at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel facilities and the surroundings.

Approximate travelling distance is 135km = 83mi. Approximate driving time is 4 hours.

DAY 05 - Arenal – Monteverde by Lake Arenal

Lake Crossing

This service, half tour – half transfer is a scenic, fast and the newest way to go or come from La Fortuna (Arenal Volcano Area), to the Monteverde area. Around 7:30 a.m. we start picking everybody from the hotels in La Fortuna for a 30 minutes microbus drive to the Arenal Lake Dam. There we will aboard into a very comfortable and safe pontoon boat for 30 to 40 minutes (approximately) ride to Río Chiquito, a little town at the other side of the lake. Once at Río Chiquito, you leave the boat and make a short break to strength the legs, after, another 1 ½ hour microbus ride to get to the hotels in the Monteverde area.

It is important to consider that the check in at the hotel is at 2:00 pm. Room will be provided at guest’s arrival time subject to availability.  Afternoon at leisure

Approximate travelling distance is 108km = 67mi.  Approximate driving time is 4 hours

DAY 04 - Arenal Volcano Hike

Breakfast at the hotel; today participants will enjoy a beautiful walk at the volcano  (OPTIONAL).

DAY 06 - Sky Walkways

Breakfast at hotel and departure to transfer to Sky Park (OPTIONAL), afternoon at leisure


Sky Walk (Hanging Bridges) This day you will enjoy a guided visit to Sky Adventures Park walkways where you can see and explore the forest from a different perspective. Sky is a conservation project in Monteverde, with an area of more than 1200 acres of protected land, Sky’s Canopy Walkways are the best way to enjoy peacefully and safely of the virgin cloud forest tree tops. Through the bridge system and over 1.6 miles of easy walking trails the visitors can enjoy the marvels of the cloud forest and get the chance to see some of the world’s most amazing and beautiful flora and fauna.

DAY 07 - Monteverde to San Jose

Breakfast included at the hotel.  Transfer from Monteverde to the city of San José for a last positioning night before going back home.Evening is at leisure to enjoy the city, hotel facilities or get a recommendation on a good restaurant to enjoy your farewell dinner.

You will spend 1 night in San Jose

Approximate travelling distance is 141km = 87mi. Approximate driving time is 3 hours

DAY 08 - 10 - Back home

According to the international flight departure time transfer from the hotel in San Jose to the International airport to take the flight back home.

According to the International Airport requirements all passengers must be at airport at least 3 hours before departure flight time for safety and check in procedures.
