Hi, Julie. We are back home in the US now and doing well.As promised, I send in writing some comments about our recent trip to Costa Rica, which you planned and arranged for us.Julie, you gave us exactly what we wanted and more, and we compliment you and CRT for your work and care. Your selection of our hosts, guides, and places to stay were, overall, very satisfactory, especially considering the budget with which you had to work.I cannot say enough about Josue and Roy. Josue was very professional and personable, excellent in English, knowledge of locations, flora and fauna, as well as history and current conditions of Costa Rica. He was just the right "mix" of professional leader and a person with whom you would want to be a friend. Roy was an excellent driver. We felt safe with him at the wheel. He was also very courteous and professional. From their first meeting us at the airport, to Poas, to Arenal, to Tarcoles, to ManueI Antonio, and again on our return to San Jose, they were completely reliable, very clear about the itinerary, and always honest and trustworthy. I consider both Josue and Roy to be friends that I hope to see again. (Just a note that, if possible, it might be better on first meeting if your team can be inside the airport with a sign instead of outside, where traffic and distractions can make it harder to see the sign and meet.) Without hesitation I would recommend you, Julie, Josue, Roy, and CRT generally to anyone. By the way, the Tarcoles addition turned out to be quite a success, thanks in large part to Josue and the boat captain there; and, yes, tell your boss that we did enjoy the restaurant beforehand. Regarding your referral to Mawamba, we thought it was an excellent choice. Our guide, Steven, was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave us complete and fulfilling tours at Totrtuguero. The driver, Chepe, was also very experienced and knowledgeable, stopping to show us the only sloth we saw on the whole trip. Having the day on our own in Manuel Antonio was a good idea, and we relaxed with swimming and kayaking in front of the hotel. The transfer from Manuel Antonio to Sierpe by Ranch Los Tucanes (Jerry) proved very satisfactory. When all was said and done, Dago and his company did a good job for us, but when we arrived at Sierpe, because Dago did not speak much English, our clear understanding of what would happen when, left a little to be desired. Later Carolina, Dago's wife, who spoke excellent English, explained that she usually accompanied Dago to Sierpe but could not that day. Maybe a transfer agent like Ranch Los Tucanes (Jerry), could help Dago explain to the passengers before he leaves to go back to Manuel Antonio, just in case Carolina cannot always be there. Regardless, we got to Drake Bay as planned. At Drake Bay at Los Cotingas Felix was very welcoming; however, we did find that the rooms we had lacked some very simple items that made the difference. Felix did respond, however, and answered satisfactorily every one of our requests. He and his wife, Monica, and their staff could not have been more friendly; and Monica's cooking was excellent ! Felix did say that next time, maybe the reseravtions could be made earlier to reserve the better rooms (We know you did the best you could at the time.). Our guide for Corcovado and For Cano was Carlos Pacheco, who works for Carolina and Dago. We all could not say enough about Carlos, who very professionally led us and looked out for us in two excellent hiking sessions in Corcovado (provided lunch) and also the next day in two snorkeling sessions at Cano Island (again providing lunch). Josue, Steven (Mawamba), and Carlos were essential to the trip in all aspects The plane trip from Drake bay to San Jose was professional and memorable, and Sansa did a great job. We also appreciated very much your altering the end of the trip so we could skip the factory souvenir place and have more time that afternoon to go to the Costa Rica National Museum (We did visit the souvenir market there.) We all enjoyed the lunch at Soda Tapia. Polly got the garlic fish, which she enjoyed greatly. I cannot say enough about the overpowering view and wonderful meal at Tiquicia Restaurant you provided our last night. Again, Josue and Roy were the perfect guides and friends to take us there.I feel you, Julie, and CRT fulfilled your obligation to us and more. I would recommend CRT and you specifically to anyone to plan a trip in Costa Rica. What makes it great also is the flexibility in your planning as opposed to the rigid schedule of a company like Caravan. We did see some people in the airport in San Jose on Monday who had been on the Caravan trip. They seemed to have had a good time, but they were on a bus with forty others, and we know they did not get to see your country as we did ! We all want to come back, and when we do, I certainly would not hesitate to contact you, Julie. Please give our regards to Josue and Roy, and the very best to you and all at CRT.As Josue would say, "Pura Vida !"Paul
