Day 1 Welcome to Costa Rica !

Arrival to Juan Santamaría International / San Jose Airport. Meet and greet by Costa Rica Representative (CRT) Once clients individually clear official entry procedures they exit the terminal building, where our bilingual tour guide will assist participants with the transfer to hotel and luggage handling.

Day 2 San José - Irazú Volcano - Turrialba
|

After breakfast, you will pick up your SUV (Toyota Rav 4 or similar) and get ready for a full day of sightseeing. The drive to the Irazú Volcano will take about 1.5 hours The volcano and it´s sleeping crater offer plenty of unique impressions. Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the night surrounded by lash gardens. Wagelia Espino Blanco Lodge is located in North Bervena, Turrialba, on a land of primary and secondary forest. Just 8 kms. Away from downtown and 65 away form San José. Buit with a special wood, cultivated for construction, as we preserve the environment. Rustic look surrounded by a colorful forest

Today, you will be taking 2 of the most educational tours there are in the area, starting with a visit to the Guayabo National Monument: ancient stone carvings of alligator and jaguar gods, ingeniously engineered, Pre-Columbian aqueducts where water still flows and paved roads receding into a lush rainforest-all hint to Costa Rica´s mysterious past civilizations…After lunch (not included), drive to the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center to learn about how to improve the standard of living of rural families in the American tropics, while embracing holistic visions of human activity and its environment.

Day 4 Turrialba – Puerto Viejo, Limón
|
|
|

A mid morning drive would be nice to start your day off and to make your way to the Caribbean side of our country… Not only will you drive through beautiful countryside, but you will be passing along banana, pineapple, papaya and ornamental plants farms all along the way…

Day 5 Day at Puerto Viejo, Limón |
|
|

Breakfast at the lodge and then snorkeling tour at Cahuita National Park: The coral reefs along the Caribbean coast are home to countless colorful fish and other sea life. Rest of the day at leisure to relax and to explore the area.

Day 6 Puerto Viejo, Limón - Sarapiquí
|
|
|

Leaving Puerto Viejo behind, you will start driving back to the West, enjoying again some of the sights you had on your way to the coast. Check in at your hotel and then, take the tour to the Museum for Indigenous Cultures (part of the hotel amenities): the largest on site museum of rainforest ecology and indigenous and pre-hispanic history in Central America. After this, you will have the rest of the evening and night at leisure

Day 7 Morning at Sarapiquí-Arenal
|

Today you will join the Chocolate Tour first thing in the morning (within walking distance from your hotel): you will discover the marvels of one of the favorite foods of human kind: chocolate. A guided walk across a suspension bridge is also included. Then, pick up your belongings at the hotel and take a short drive to the Costarican Farm for the Pineapple Tour: here the guide will take you to the active operating Costaricancapineapple farm for a very interesting talk about the history and cultivation of this product. Then, drive again through beautiful sceneries all the way to the Arenal Volcano National Park area. Check into your hotel and the rest of the day is free to take a deep into the hot springs and to enjoy the magnificent volcano view!

Day 8 Hasta pronto Costa Rica !!

Depending on your flight schedule, morning to enjoy the resort or either drive back to San José at the most convenient time in order to return your car and take your flight back home. Unless you would like to add one or more nights at the Pacific Coast, for which we have extension programs in the North and the Central Pacific, besides the rental car for as many days as you choose
