Day 01 - San José/Accommodation at Double Tree Cariari  or similar

• One of our friendly staff members will pick you up for your private transfer to your hotel in the San José area. The hotel is located in the outskirts of San José to avoid driving in the city’s traffic.

Day 02 – San José – Poas Volcano National Park – Poas Volcano Lodge

• Your rental car will be delivered to the hotel so you can get ready for your first day of exploring.
• After Breakfast you will start your visit to one of Costa Rica’s most spectacular sights, Poas Volcano National Park. The route to the crater and the lagoon of the volcano takes you through rural areas of the Central Valley with deep green Coffee plantations and small pitoresc villages along the slopes of the sleeping giant. Poas Volcano Lodge is located only a few kilometers from Poas Volcano National Park.
• The small lodge is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers plenty of space to relax and enjoy cozy tranquility over a specially prepared dinner. (Driving times: Hotel in San José to Poás Volcano 1,5 h ; from Poás Volcano to Poás Volcano Lodge 45 min)

Day 03 –  Arenal Volcano  – Arenal Paraiso Lodge

• After a typical breakfast, you continue along the slopes of Poás Volcano into the low land of San Carlos, a rich agricultural area of inland Costa Rica. The area is famous for its production of fruits, vegetables and cattle. Small towns and villages invite you to stop and enjoy some of the local specialties. 
• Yet today’s highlight is still to come. The perfect cone of the active Arenal Volcano dominates the landscape. Especially after nightfall you will be able to witness spectacular demonstrations of mother nature’s force.  (Driving time: Poás Volcano Lodge to Arenal Paraiso 3 h)

Day 04–  Palo Verde National Park- Hacienda La Pacífica

• Enjoy breakfast and make it a fairly early start today, because there is plenty to see and experiment on today’s schedule. Once you drove along the shores of lake Arenal and it’s lush tropical vegetations the route will soon take you into a completely different life zone.  During a boat trip at Palo Verde National Park you will be able to observe plenty of wild life that calls this river and mangrove area its home. Hacienda La Pacífica is host to some of the local wild life and provides you with a relaxing and unique atmosphere.
• (Driving times: Arenal Paraíso to Palo Verde 3 h; Palo Verde to Hacienda La Pacifica 1 h)

Day 05–  Hacienda La Pacífica - Carara National Park –Hotel Playa Espadilla

• Breakfast with freshly baked bread makes the perfect start for today’s experiences and impressions. The route will now take you along the Pan American Highway through cattle area along the pacific coast. Carara National Park is located in the transition area between tropical dry forest and tropical rainforest. This makes the Park home to a vast variety of wildlife and plants. Continuing along the pacific coast you will soon drive through intense palm plantations that dominate the landscape and provide the area with rich agricultural benefits. Your hotel for tonight is surrounded by tropical gardens, for you to relax and treat yourself to some exotic delights. (Driving times: Hacienda La Pacifica- Carara National Park 3h ; Carara national Park – Hotel Playa Espadilla 2h)

Day 06–  Manuel Antonio National Park – Central Valley 

• Manuel Antonio National Park, it’s beautiful beaches and rich wildlife will make it hard for you to say goodbye to Costa Rica. Enjoy the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean and the lushness of Manuel Antonio’s National Park’s vegetation.  The impressions of this morning’s paradise like experiences will accompany you on your way back to the mountain range of the Central Valley and the city of San José. Return your rental car and check in at the comfortable Hotel in San José 
• (Driving time : Hotel Playa Espadilla – San José 3 h)

Important note: At this point of the itinerary you might wish to include one or more additional nights at your hotel near Manuel Antonio National Park

Day 07–  San Jose –  Double Tree Cariari Hotel 

• Enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet - Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time to relax at the hotel pool or do some souvenir shopping. According to your departure time, one of our staff representatives, will pick you up for your private airport transfer.
