Monteverde was first settled in the 1950’s by North American Quakers who chose Costa Rica primarily because it had no standing army. Although Monteverde's founders came here to farm the land, they wisely recognized the need to preserve the rare cloud forest that covered the mountain slopes above their fields.

	Pick up at your hotel and shuttle service* to Monteverde (breakfast not included) Check in at the hotel. Then selection of one of the following two activities: The Tree Top Canopy Tour: specially designed to enjoy the spectacular view of the Gulf of Nicoya and the flora and fauna of the Reserve. Night Tour The Monteverde Cloud Forest is teeming with creatures of all shapes and sizes, but chances to see them are limited since they do not keep the same hours as you do. In fact, most of the forest’s inhabitants follow nocturnal or crepuscular (twilight) lifestyles. Accommodation at El Establo Hotel or similar.

	Buffet breakfast at the hotel and transportation to Selvatura Park for a full day of adventures (lunch at the park): Located in the heart of Monteverde, these zip lines and hanging bridges are one of the few that literally take you deep within the Monteverde Cloud Forest. Simply the best way to observe the cloud forest tree tops. Accommodation at El Establo Hotel or similar.
